World Assemblies of God Congress to Convene in Ghana

The World Assemblies of God Fellowship (WAGF) will hold its 10th triennial congress Oct. 14-16 in Accra, Ghana, West Africa, with more than 10,000 delegates expected to attend. This 2026 congress marks a historic first as it is the first time the event will be held on the African continent.

The theme of the congress is “Expansion: Empowered for Kingdom Ministry.”

“The World Assemblies of God Congress is a unique event that brings together like-minded believers from around the world for powerful times of worship, spiritual enrichment, and fellowship,” says Doug Clay, Assemblies of God USA general superintendent and vice-chairman of WAGF. “God desires that all people be part of His kingdom and I believe these days in Ghana will bring a fresh anointing for fulfilling the Great Commission task.”

In addition to Clay, featured speakers for the gathering include John Dramani Mahama, president of the Republic of Ghana and an Assemblies of God, Ghana, member; Dominic Yeo, chairman of the World Assemblies of God Fellowship and general superintendent of the Assemblies of God, Singapore; Stephen Wengam, general superintendent of the Assemblies of God, Ghana; Juan Carlos Escobar, WAGF secretary and president of the Executive Council of the Federation of the Assemblies of God of Spain; Dag Heward-Mills, founder of United Denominations; and many more.

Scheduled events include multiple workshops, plenary sessions, panels, and evening revival services.

“This congress will be a sacred moment for the Assemblies of God family worldwide — a time to worship, connect, and align ourselves with His divine mandate,” Yeo said in an online post. “Come and hear what the Spirit is saying to the Church and be equipped to carry the gospel to the ends of the earth.”

Registration for the congress is already open, with an “early bird” registration fee offered until July 31. U.S. citizens will also need a valid passport and visa to enter Ghana.

The World Assemblies of God Fellowship is comprised of more than 180 nations with over 451,000 churches worldwide and nearly 89 million adherents. Ghana is bordered by Ivory Coast to the west, Burkina Faso to the north, Togo to the east, and the Gulf of Guinea and Atlantic Ocean to the south. Accra, the host city, is located on the southeastern coast and is also the capital of Ghana.
